FOX
After the devastating and sudden death of Glee star Cory Monteith,  the show's production had to be postponed to allow family and friends to grieve. However Glee creator Ryan Murphy told E! News that the show will begin production in August. He added that the decision to get back to work was solely Lea's.

"Ultimately the person who made the decision was Lea, who felt that the best thing for the cast and crew was to be together and to get back to work and be together every day and talk about our memories of him. So we decided to do that with Lea's blessing and we're going to go back to work and have grief counsellors on the set for two weeks because people are really hurting." Murphy Said

Lea, who dated Cory both on and off the show has been grieving since she got that phone call that none of us would ever want to get. A friend close to her reports that Lea got the call later that day, July 13, and she immediately went crazy. "She cried and screamed, and was uncontrollable," the source said. Lea has since been grieving alongside Monteith's family and planning his funeral. She however has released her first public statement since Cory passed thanking everyone who's supported her and Cory's family through this hard time. She also thinks that what's best for Glee is for everyone to go back to work and make Cory proud. Murphy also added that season 5 of glee would be dedicated to the fallen star. Clearly miss Michele has been really strong in all of this and calling the shots for the resumption of glee, shows just how dedicated she is. Especially when the show was this close to coming to a halt. This was not just a rumour by the way. Mr. Murphy confirmed that he would have ended Glee if Lea didn't feel like that's where she wanted to be any more, considering.

How did you decide what to do with the show?Once you're faced with this situation, which is devastating…There's really no way to win in this situation, I feel like, so our position was, do we go off the air permanently? Do we go off the air until November? Do we start shooting again in January? But the thing that we ultimately found that our cast and crew wanted to be together, they wanted to go back to work, they wanted to sort of be in a place where they could all remember and discuss Cory sooner than later. As for me, I really had no set opinion. I was willing to do what people wanted.
Did you really consider ending the show for good?
Yes. If Lea had said to me, 'I could never do this again and I don't want to do this again,' you know, she is sort of the show, so what do you do? And I would've, out of respect to her as a person, said 'OK,' but that's not how Lea operates; that's not how she feels. She's handled this with so much humanity and grace and she's also handled this in a way where she's trying to look out for 500 other people affected by him and who have mortgages to pay and families to feed. That was never on the table for her and I said, 'OK.' Nothing has been done and will be done in terms of any of the material without Lea blessing it and making sure it's OK with her—and she has been.
-Ryan Murphy to E!News
Although the fourth season of the show was disastrous and all over the place in my opinion, I'm glad that they are coming back next season and will probably have a better storyline and execution.
